Advair HFA Lawsuit
What is Advair HFA?
Advair HFA is an asthma medication used to treat airway constriction and inflammation. Advair HFA is not prescribed to treat sudden or severe symptoms of asthma—the drug does not replace rescue inhalers.
Advair HFA is available in three difference strengths; each dosage offers 120 inhalations. Advair HFA is only meant for use in patients 12 years and older. The drug is only offered via prescription in the United States.
Safety Information Concerning Advair HFA:
Advair HFA should not be used by patients taking long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist medicines or those who face an increased risk of death from their asthma. If you are experiencing breathing problems as an Advair HFA side effect, you must immediately contact your healthcare provider.
You should seek emergency medical aid if, after using Advair HFA, your breathing problems become worse or if you use your rescue inhaler but it is ineffective in relieving your breathing problems.
Advair HFA should only be used if your provider decides that your condition cannot be controlled with long-term asthma control medications. If, after using Advair HFA, your asthma becomes stagnant or manageable, your healthcare provider will probably opt to take you off of Advair HFA.
It is necessary to follow your Advair HFA prescription instructions; never take more or less of the drug than as prescribed by your medical professional. Failure to adhere to said instructions will result an increased risk of Advair HFA side effects.
Advair HFA Side Effects:
• Advair HFA side effects include various allergic reactions. As stated before, these Advair HFA side effects require immediate medical attention. These Advair HFA side effects include hives, rashes, swelling of the mouth, tongue and/or face, as well as breathing problems
• Advair HFA side effects also include sudden breathing problems

Because of this stud, the FDA required all makers of long-acting bronchodilator medications to update warnings on their product label.
In January of 2008, the FDA requested that the manufacturers of Advair HFA provide further information concerning controlled clinical studies with the drug to further evaluate the safety of Advair HFA when treating asthma. The manufacturers of Advair HFA indicated it will take several years to submit the requested information.
The FDA has recommended that Advair HFA should only be used long-term in patients whose asthma cannot be controlled on steroids alone. Moreover, in connection with Advair HFA lawsuits, the FDA believes that the drug should only be used for the shortest period of time; once Advair HFA controls the asthma, the user should be taken off the drug. The FDA also discourages Advair HFA to be used in conjunction with Symicort. These FDA warnings ultimately prevent users from collecting Advair HFA settlements for developing severe side effects from the above uses.
Advair HFA, according to an FDA ruling, should only be used in conjunction with an inhalable steroid. According to the government agency, patients using Advair HFA alone face an increased risk of hospitalization and/or death due to exacerbated symptoms.
Advair HFA: FDA Warnings
In November of 2005, the FDA alerted patients and health care professionals that a number of long-acting bronchodilator medications are attached with possible increased risks of bronchospasm (worsening of wheezing) in some people. In response to this finding, the FDA requested manufacturers to update warnings in their existing product labeling. This information is now reflected on Advair HFA’s prescription box.
