Dale and Thomas Popcorn Issues Voluntary Recall

On September 28, 2012, the Food and Drug Administration announced a voluntary recall issued by Dale and Thomas Popcorn for certain ready-to-eat bags of popcorn.  Certain flavors of the popcorn may contain Listeria monocytogenes.  

The Indiana-brand products are distributed to numerous retailers, vendors, distribution centers, and consumers on the internet.  The contaminated products were distributed on or after August 8, 2012, and the recalled products have an expiration date between February 4, 2013 and March 12, 2013.  All of the products were packaged in various sized red bags.  Consumer should check the best by dates on the top-right corner on the front of the bag.

The following products are recalled by Dale and Thomas Popcorn:

3.5 oz. Bag of Aged White Cheddar
8 oz. Bag of Aged White Cheddar
8.3 oz. Bag of Aged White Cheddar
9 oz. Bag of Aged White Cheddar
6.5 oz. Bag of Almond Biscotti
7 oz. Bag of Almond Biscotti
7 oz. Bag of American Cheese
8 oz. Bag of Apple Crisp
3.5 oz. Bag of Bacon Ranch
7.75 oz. Bag of Bacon Ranch
8.3 oz. Bag of Bacon Ranch
6 oz. Bag of Black and White Drizzle
7.4 oz. Bag of Caramel
8 oz. Bag of Caramel
7 oz. Bag of Caramel Roasted Peanuts
5 oz. Bag of Chocolate Peanut Butter
5.5 oz. Bag of Chocolate Peanut Butter
5.5. oz. Bag of Cinnamon Sugar Drizzle
6 oz. Bag of Cinnamon Sugar Drizzle
5.5 oz. Bag of Dark Fudge Chocolate Chip Drizzle
6 oz. Bag of Dark Fudge Chocolate Chip Drizzle
9.75 oz. Bag of Kettlecorn
14 oz. Bag of Kettlecorn
0.7 oz. 8-Pack Bag of Kettlecorn Multipack
6.9 oz. Bag of Salt and Pepper
5.5 oz. Bag of Wasabi Reserve

Listeria can cause high fevers, intense headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea in healthy adults.  Pregnant women can experience a miscarriage or stillbirth if they contract Listeria.
